Thanks, internet — T. rex Tuesdays come stomping into SLO County
Blair Franklin and Rose Clarke grew up in Cambria and always make a point to return to the area for the Pinedorado Parade.
This year, the two friends decided to try something a little different for the 69th annual event — dress up in huge, inflatable T. rex costumes (inspired, no doubt, by the TrexTuesdays internet sensation).
Franklin posted a minutelong video of their excursion on her Facebook page, which has been viewed more than 1,200 times and features a caption that reads, “Of all the things I’ve bought drunk shopping online, this wins. #adulting”
In the video, the dino pair trot through the Pinedorado event grounds, drawing a lot of smiles — as well as confused stares.
“I’m glad the children are having a positive reaction,” says Casey Franklin, Blair’s husband, while filming, “instead of crying and screaming and running away.”
One video of the dinosaurs at an ice skating rink in January 2016 has been viewed more than 66 million times. A new video is released every Tuesday.
