Comments (0) | COMPTON — San Luis Obispo Blues third baseman Jason King’s two-run triple capped a four-run seventh inning as the American All-Stars broke a 6-6 tie and went on to a 13-6 victory over the National All-Stars in the first California Collegiate League All-Star Game on Monday night at the MLB Urban Academy in Compton.
Several San Luis Obispo Rattlers played for the National All-Stars. Richie Mirowski started the game and tossed a perfect inning. Brandon Van Dam threw a perfect third, and Danny Price pitched to two batters in the seventh inning.
The Rattlers’ Mike Miller started at shortstop and went 0 for 2. Josh Jackson (catcher, 1 for 2) and Joe Weik (first base, 1 for 4, RBI) also started.
The Rattlers’ Jake Domingos was 1 for 2 with a double and a run, and Beau Fraser was 1 for 2 with two RBI. Blues teammates Luke Yoder (1 for 3) and C.J. Cron (1 for 1, run) also played in the game.
Cal Poly pitcher Matt Leonard, who plays for the Santa Barbara Foresters, threw a scoreless inning for the American side.
