Comments (0) | The San Luis Obispo Blues got runs on an RBI double by David Van Ostrand and a single by Jake Atwell to top the Urban Youth Academy Barons 3-2 in summer collegiate action Saturday at SLO Stadium.
The Blues (18-6) fell behind early after the Barons scored a run in the first on a bases-loaded walk. But Blues starter Jarrett Dunnam (4-0) settled down and pitched shutout ball from that point through the fifth inning to remain undefeated on the summer.
Santa Barbara Foresters 4, San Luis Obispo Rattlers 3
The San Luis Obispo Rattlers kept it close a day after getting blown out by the Santa Barbara Foresters but still dropped a California Collegiate League decision on the road.
Former Mission Prep standout Bob Mott pitched six innings, allowing all four runs on seven hits and striking out three for the Rattlers (15-7, 8-6 CCL)
The Rattlers scored two in the ninth against the Foresters (14-5, 6-2 CCL) and had the tying run on third and the go-ahead run on first, but Mike Miller grounded out to third to end the game.
