HOW TO SUBMIT TO THE REC CALENDAR

Please send your Recreation Calendar item at least two weeks before the start of your event to sports@thetribunenews.com . Please include a contact number. Only events open to the public will be accepted. Items will run at least once and more times as space permits. Baseball

The Larry Lee Baseball Camp will hold three camps from late June to early July for kids ages 7 to 13 years old. The first camp will run June 23-26 at SLO Stadium, the second will be from July 7-10 at St. Joseph High and the third will be from July 14-17 at SLO Stadium. Cost is $200 for each camp. BASKETBALL

Bob Cantu will be hosting his 12th-annual Basketball Camp this summer with six different sessions to choose from. The camp covers basic fundamentals for boys and girls between the ages of four and 16 in shooting, ball handling, passing, rebounding and defense. Instruction is tailored to each individual child’s experience and skill level. Campers receive a written evaluation of their progress. Five Cities Girls Basketball Camp will be held at Arroyo Grande High School June 16-18 with two sessions offered. Session 1 will be from 9 a. m. to noon for girls entering grades 4-6. Session 2 will be from 1 to 4 p. m. for girls entering grades 7-8. The cost of the camp is $70 and includes a camp T-shirt and basketball. Qualifying rounds for the California State Games Basketball Tournament will be held May 30 to June 1 with games played at Atascadero High School, Atascadero Junior High, Templeton High School and Templeton Junior High. The top three teams in each division qualify for the California State Games Basketball Championship in San Diego July 11-13. Cost is $300 for three or four games. The City of Arroyo Grande Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department will host its summer adult basketball league. Registration for returning teams runs through Friday, with new teams registering May 19-23. Three men’s divisions are being offered. The cost is $535 per team plus $8 per non-Arroyo Grande resident. The Atascadero Youth Football and Cheer League is hosting its first annual golf tournament at Chalk Mountain Golf Course on May 31. There will be a shotgun start at 8 a. m. Cost is $90 per golfer. RUNNING/TRIATHLON

Mission Multisport is teaching a SLO TRI triathlon camp for anyone wanting to learn or train with a coach and like-minded individuals. There are seven camps from May through July, and different levels from beginner through intermediate/advanced. There is a range of availability and babysitting is available. Mission Multisport is scheduled to hold its San Luis Obispo duathlon of a run/mountain bike/run event on May 31 at Laguna Lake Park. There will be an expert race (2-mile run, 9-mile mountain bike and 2- mile run) a sprint course (1.5-mile run, 6-mile mountain bike and 1.5- mile run), and a kids event (half-mile run, 2-mile bike and a half-mile run). All courses are off-road. Cost is $35 until May 29 and $40 on race day. The kids race (13 and under) will be $15 until May 29 and $20 on race day. All participants must have an up to date USAT card, or a one-day membership can be purchased for $10 for an adult or $5 for kids. The Kennedy Club Fitness Triathlon is set to host a short-course triathlon Saturday at the Atascadero Kennedy Club Fitness at 7 a. m. It features a 600-meter swim, 16.8-mile bike and 3.5-mile run. The Heritage Oaks Bank Family Fun Day and Fun Run is scheduled for May 31 in Santa Maria at Town Center West. Cost for the 5K is $20 ($25 after May 16), the half-mile kids race is $10 ($15 after May 16) and the 75-yard kid dash is $5 ($10 after May 16). The 5K kicks off the day at 8 a. m. The South Bay Soccer Association is set to hold the TOPSoccer Fest at Los Osos Middle School on Saturday from 9-11:30 a. m. This is a great opportunity for children with physical or mental disabilities to participate in recreational team sports. Registration for the fall soccer will also be available. TENNIS

The Five Cities Tennis Association's annual Spring Tournament is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Soto Park. Membership for the Five Cities Tennis Association is $25 for the entire family for the year and the light key program is also $25.00. The 5 Cities Swim School is opening up swim lesson registration for summer to the public. Class size is limited to three to four students. The pool is located at 425 Traffic Way. You may call the office to register or go online at www.5citiesswimschool.com . Classes are offered mornings. afternoons and evenings six days a week. The school teaches ages three months to adult. SOFTBALL
