LOS ANGELES–On Thursday evening, in the seventh inning of a 6-3 victory over the New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts orchestrated an elaborate ruse. He engages in feints like this often. He often refers to them as "just a little gamesmanship," gambits to test the thinking of the opposing manager. Rarely do they work better than this.

SEATTLE–After his 100th and final pitch of the night, his night, Andrew Moore strolled back to the Seattle Mariners' dugout, greeted there with a round of hearty handshakes from teammates and coaches. Beyond the dugout, the Safeco Field crowd stood and offered a rousing ovation for the rookie right-hander.
