Three of the four boys tennis teams from San Luis Obispo County that made the CIF-Southern Section playoffs are playing at home, the schools learned Monday.
In the Division 2 playoffs on Wednesday, PAC 8 champion San Luis Obispo High is hosting Camarillo, which finished third in the Coastal Canyon League. Arroyo Grande, the PAC 8 runner-up, will host Coastal Canyon runner-up Simi Valley, and Atascadero, which finished third in the PAC 8, travels to Walnut, which is 19-0 this season.
In a Division 4 wild-card game today, Los Padres League runner-up Templeton will host Laguna Blanca. The winner advances to take on Golden West champion Westminster on Wednesday.
CIF-Southern Section Individual Regional

Seven local high school golfers competed in the CIF-Southern Section Northern Individual Regional at par 71 Las Posas Country Club, and two made the cut out of 102 competitors to advance to next week’s CIF-Southern Section Regional Championship.
Nipomo High’s Ray Navis shot a 73 and finished one stroke under the cutoff, earning one of 20 spots in next week’s competition at Mission Lakes in Palm Desert. San Luis Obispo’s Andy Eppright qualified as well, shooting a 74 and making it through in a playoff to secure one of the last six spots.
Arroyo Grande’s Jack Avrit was two strokes over the cut at 76, and Paso Robles’ Bailey Flickinger finished with a 78. Nipomo’s Adam Burrola shot an 80, Coleman Godfrey shot an 81 for San Luis Obispo, and Paso Robles’ Greg Portuch shot an 86 to round out the local golfers in the tournament.
CIF-Southern Section Division 2 and 3 Diving Championships
Mission Prep, Nipomo, San Luis Obispo, and Arroyo Grande all entered divers in the championships Monday, and multiple divers finished in the top 10 of their divisions.
In Division 3, Nipomo’s Colby Webb finished fifth with a score of 219.65.
San Luis Obispo’s Blake Griffith finished eighth in the Division 2 boys’ side to lead all local divers, posting a total score of 463.00. Richard Neice and Charles Fox of Arroyo Grande finished 22nd and 28th, posting respective scores of 204.15 and 119.10.
On the Division 2 girls’ side, Jamie Stapf of San Luis Obispo finished 21st with a score of 233.90. Fellow Tigers Jayde Westehol, Emily Ardantz, and Sophie Maino finished 27th (134.90), 29th (120.95), and 32nd (114.45), respectively. Arroyo Grande’s Allyssa Shallanberger finished 24th with a score of 152.45 and Mission Prep’s Marina Florez finished 33rd with a 107.10.
Mission Prep 3, Fillmore 0
Paul Tompkins led the Royals with 21 kills, 14 digs, and an ace as Mission Prep (12-11) beat host Fillmore 25-11, 25-21, 25-23 in the wild-card round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 playoffs.
Sean O’Conner had 28 kills, four digs, two aces and a block, and James McKiernan had seven kills, four digs and an ace as well in the win. With the victory, Mission Prep moves on to play top-ranked El Segundo tonight at 7 p.m.
Coast Union 12, Templeton 7
Ani Corbet went 5 for 5 with three runs and two RBI as the Broncos (14-7) picked up a win over Templeton.
Ellie Magnuson had three RBI and two hits for Coast Union.
