The San Luis Obispo high boys volleyball team beat Crossroads 3-0 in the wild-card round of CIF-Southern Section Division 3 playoffs, winning by scores 25-15, 25-21, 25-14 in Santa Monica on Saturday.
Shea McSorley led the Tigers with 15 kills, John Duffy had eight kills and Bowen Schowerer had 28 assists.
“We did a good job of setting blocks on kills,” said coach Manny Carter, as the Tigers had eight as a team. San Luis Obispo (17-6) advances to play at Westminster in first round Tuesday.
Late runs doom Coast Union baseball
The Coast Union baseball team fell 7-4 at home to Dunn.
The Broncos took a 3-1 lead into the fifth inning when Dunn scored four runs.
Coast Union scored in the bottom half of the inning to cut the lead to 5-4 before Dunn added two insurance runs in the sixth inning.
Jake McAvoy pitched a complete game with six strikeouts and three earned runs, and Lane Sutherland was 2 for 4 at the plate.
