The San Luis Obispo High baseball team beat Pioneer Valley 1-0 in eight innings on Friday in San Luis Obispo, as Ben Lemiere drew a bases-loaded walk for the game’s only run.
Jeremy Jess pitched a complete game with four hits and five strikeouts.
Connor Maydole had the only extra-base hit for the Tigers (9-8, 2-6 PAC 8) with a double.
Arroyo Grande 12, Paso Robles 3

Nash Ackerman and Noan Elias were both 2 for 3 as Elias had two RBI and two runs and Ackerman added a run.
Jeff Fernandes pitched five innings with five strikeouts and two earned runs.
The Eagles (11-6, 8-0 PAC 8) blew the game open with seven runs in the third inning.
Atascadero 4, Righetti 2
Noah Gastelo went 3 for 3 with an RBI in the seventh to give the Greyhounds a 4-2 lead.
Atascadero (7-10, 4-4 PAC 8) also had Holden Nix go 2 for 3 with a two-run home run in the first inning, and Ty Townsend went 4 for 4.
Townsend also pitched six innings and gave up no earned runs.
St. Joseph 3, Mission Prep 1
Chance Keegan scored in the first inning for Mission Prep and finished the game 2 for 4 with two singles and a run. Bryce Fledderman went five innings on the mound for the Royals, allowing one earned run on four hits and had three strikeouts.
Cabrillo 4, Morro Bay 2
The Pirates led 2-1 in the sixth with two outs before an error allowed the go-ahead run to score.
Elijah Garcia was 2 for 3 with two runs, and Rajan Singh was 2 for 4 with a run for Morro Bay (6-11, 1-5 Los Padres League).
Harrison Mienke pitched six innings with one earned run and no walks.
Lompoc 6, Nipomo 2
Jake Santala had the only RBI for the Titans (3-11, 0-6 LPL) on a double in the third while Trevor Moss went 2 for 3 in the home loss.
Coast Union 14, Cuyama Valley 1, 5 innings
Jack McAvoy was 2 for 4 with three RBI and pitched all five innings with six strikeouts and one walk at home.
The Broncos (5-8, 4-0 Coast Valley League) also had Lane Sutherland go 2 for 4 with three RBI and Bhin Tireu go 2 for 3 with two RBI.
Alpaugh 13, North County Christian 1, 5 innings
The Crusaders (0-4, 0-3 Coast Valley League) were no-hit over five innings, but managed a run after Elijah Shively reached on a fielder’s choice and stole second, third and home.
Frank Prebor had 10 strikeouts over four innings and Andrew Dam-Mikkelsen struck out the side in the fifth.
San Luis Obispo 11, St. Joseph 3
The Tigers scored four runs in the first and four runs in the seventh to earn their first league win of the season.
Marissa Piatt had two doubles and five RBI to lead San Luis Obispo (12-9, 1-5 PAC 8), and Hannah Murphy was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Hannah Gibbs pitched four innings, allowing one earned run and a walk and had one strikeout.
Arroyo Grande 6, Atascadero 5
Sam Oliver went 3 for 4 with a triple, two singles and an RBI, and Kacie Burger also had a triple for the Eagles (8-3, 4-1 PAC 8).
Paso Robles 7, Pioneer Valley 0
Hunter Young pitched a complete game, allowing no runs, three hits, and four walks and had four strikeouts for the Bearcats (10-5, 4-1 PAC 8).
Becca Twyman had a double and two RBI, and Chloe Kerns had a double and an RBI.
Lompoc 12, Nipomo 3
Gennae Abatti hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning for the Titans (7-10, 3-3 LPL), and Jess Zuniga went 3 for 3 with double.
Templeton 4, Santa Maria 2
The Eagles scored one run in second inning and three in the fifth inning as Kat Kline and Katie Murphee were 2 for 4 with a run apiece.
Shaylyn Coy pitched seven innings with four strikeouts and didn’t give up a run until the sixth inning.
Templeton (4-12, 2-4 LPL) also had Kaitlin Doty and Ashly Ingle go 2 for 3.
Coast Union 15, Cuyama Valley 0
Ellie Magnuson had 11 strikeouts over five innings and an RBI in the home win.
Remy Corbet also went 3 for 4 with three RBI for the Broncos (6-6, 5-0 CVL).
SWIMMING AND DIVING
Boys: San Luis Obispo 182, St. Joseph 44; Girls: San Luis Obispo 197, St. Joseph 77
Galen Penvenne and Alex Rolph won two events for the Tigers, as Penvenne won the boys 200-yard freestyle in 1 minute, 50.3 seconds and the 100 backstroke (55.78), while Rolph won the 200 individual medley (2:12.92) and the 100 freestyle (51.5).
San Luis Obispo also saw wins from Ian Quinn in the boys 100 butterfly (1:04.92) and Liam Dooley in the 500 freestyle (5:14.23).
Morgan Leishman, Gaby Penvenne, and Tara Popovich each won multiple events on the girls side.
Leishman won the 200 IM (2:18.28) and 100 breaststroke (1:15.59), Penvenne won the 100 butterfly (1:02.5) and the 100 backstroke (1:03.0), and Popovich won the 50 freestyle (26.48) and the 100 freestyle (57.08).
Boys: Morro Bay 103, Orcutt Academy 63; Girls: Morro Bay 87, Orcutt Academy 82
Jack Krull won the boys 50-yard freestyle in 23.72 and the 100 breaststroke (1:09.11), and Austin Pask won the 500 freestyle in 5:53.42 for the Morro Bay boys (5-0).
Torie White won the girls 50 freestyle (26.40) and the 200 freestyle in 2:09.40, and Aspen Bryant won the 100 breaststroke (1:17.8) the Morro Bay girls (4-1).
