The Paso Robles High boys soccer team beat St. Joseph 1-0 on the road Friday to move into a tie with San Luis Obispo for second place in the PAC 8 standings.
Rafael Roman scored in the first half from 25 yards out, beating two defenders, and Juan Carlos Ruiz had five saves.
In the second half, Victor Rodriguez had six saves, including a penalty kick, to preserve the victory for the Bearcats (8-2-5, 6-2-2).
Atascadero 2, Mission Prep 1
Mike Murach broke a scoreless tie after halftime, and Christian Maldonado scored the go-ahead goal on an assist from Connor Setting midway through the second half for the Greyhounds (4-14-2, 1-8-1 PAC 8).
David Miller scored on a rebound off the post for the Royals (1-14-0, 1-9-0) to make it 1-1.
Atascadero 2, Mission Prep 1 OT
Maia Mumford had both goals for Atascadero (11-4-3, 6-3-1 PAC 8).
Mission Prep’s Emily Riforgiate scored on a header from Sammi Fernandez in the 34th minute in the second half to tie the score at 1-1, and send the game into overtime.
Gabby Flores had 10 saves for the Royals (5-7-3, 1-6-3).
Coast Union 7, Midland 2
Remy Corbet had four goals and two assists, and Rebecca Tavera, Kat Sison and Lindy Ortiz also scored goals for the Broncos (8-6-2).
Arroyo Grande 62, San Luis Obispo 39
Cobe Williams led the Eagles (11-11, 6-4 PAC 8) with 18 points, along with six assists, while Bradley Mickey added 15 points in the win at home.
Chase Braun had 15 points for the Tigers (7-18, 0-11), who couldn’t overcome an 11-point halftime deficit.
Mission Prep 76, Atascadero 49
Quinton Adlesh had a game-high 18 points and 11 assists in the win for the Royals (16-5, 9-1 PAC 8), who jumped out to a 13-point lead by halftime.
Thomas Carpenter had 10 points for the Greyhounds (10-11, 4-6).
St. Joseph 65, Paso Robles 44
Quinn Parker had 12 points, and Josh Oliver added 10 points in a loss for the Bearcats (9-12, 4-6 PAC 8).
Nipomo 64, Orcutt Academy 51
Mark Hilbert hit three 3-pointers down the stretch en route to 13 points, and Trevor Small had 12 points to lead a balanced scoring attack for Nipomo (9-13, 6-4 LPL).
Templeton 74, Morro Bay 29
Aiden Sarbeck had 28 points, 18 rebounds and eight blocks as the Eagles (5-12, 2-8 LPL) were up by two after the first quarter before scoring 60 points in final three quarters.
Diego Rivera was the leading scorer for the Pirates (5-15, 1-9) with 16 points.
North County Christian 39, Faith Christian 36
Andrew Dam-Mikkelson had 34 points, 13 rebounds and five steals for North County Christian (3-8).
Elijah Schively and Doug Dole added nine and eight rebounds, respectively.
Coast Union 45, Valley Christian Academy 39
Gehrig Kniffen had a game-high 23 points, and Nahum Hernandez had 10 rebounds as the Broncos (14-4, 8-0 Coast Valley League) kept their league record perfect against the visiting Lions.
The Broncos outscored Valley Christian Academy 9-3 in the fourth quarter after the two teams entered the final quarter deadlocked at 36.
Arroyo Grande 53, San Luis Obispo 30
Ashlyn Herlihy had 16 points as the Eagles outscored the Tigers by 19 points in the first and third quarters combined.
Stephanie Brenner and Natalia Demartini led San Luis Obispo (10-12, 3-7 PAC 8) with eight and seven points, respectively.
Brynn Thoming added 15 points for Arroyo Grande (19-2, 10-0).
St. Joseph 48, Paso Robles 22
Gwen Lundy had seven points to lead Paso Robles (6-13, 3-7 PAC 8).
Atascadero 45, Mission Prep 35
Sabrina Degnan had 16 points, and Maddie Leong added 13 points for the Greyhounds (10-10, 3-8 PAC 8), who jumped out to an early lead after the end of the first quarter and maintained the lead throughout.
I’raya Smith led the visiting Royals (12-8, 5-5) with 12 points in the loss.
Nipomo 54, Orcutt Academy 42
Sidyney Augilera had 15 points as the Titans jumped out to a 20-6 lead in the first quarter in the road win.
Orcutt Academy’s Summer Vasquez had a game-high 16 points.
Vanessa Davis added 10 points for Nipomo (8-14, 5-5 LPL).
Morro Bay 52, Templeton 28
Eliza Lewis had a game-high 15 points and seven assists, while Julia Fonturbel added 11 points and 11 rebounds for Morro Bay (10-12, 5-5 LPL).
The Pirates took over in the second half, outscoring visiting Templeton 33-7 in the final two quarters.
Julia Aurignac had nine points for the Eagles.
Valley Christian Academy 35, Coast Union 7
Emily McAvoy, Crystal Nunez and Margaret Stern were the only players to score in the home loss for Coast Union (9-6, 5-2 CVL).
