The Templeton High girls volleyball team beat Ramona 3-0 in the second round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 3A playoffs in Riverside on Thursday night as Lucy Portillo had 13 kills.
Josi Kelly led the Eagles in assists with 29, while Julie Cate and Sarah Bolts had nine digs apiece as the Eagles won 25-19, 25-12, 25-12.
Morgan Lawson added nine blocks and eight kills for Templeton (27-7).
The Eagles host Woodcrest Christian in Saturday’s semifinals.
Coast Union 3, Oakwood 0
The Broncos dispatched the Gorillas in the second round of the Division 5AA playoffs, winning 25-10, 25-14, 25-12.
Sage Radecki led the way with 20 assists and 11 digs, while Xue DiMaggio contributed five aces for the Broncos (15-6). Cameron MacTavish and Janelle Bohey had five kills apiece, with Bohey adding 11 digs.
The Broncos move on to the quarterfinals Saturday.
North County Christian 3, Cal Lutheran 1
The Morrison sisters led the Crusaders as Aliyah had 25 kills, Madison had 10 kills, and Gabrielle had 24 assists in a 23-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-23 win in the second round of the Division 5AA playoffs at Atascadero High.
Kelsie McRoy had a team- high 17 digs for North County Christian (22-8), which had a bye in the first round and advances to Saturday’s quarterfinals.
Santa Clara Christian 3, Coastal Christian 1
The Conquerors managed to take a set against the No. 1 seed in the second round of the Division 5AA playoffs, losing 25-20, 25-15, 22-25, 25-13 as Ronnie Garrison had 10 kills and 16 digs.
Audrey Berdar added 15 assists while Whitney Davis had six aces for Coastal Christian.
BOYS WATER POLO
Arroyo Grande 13, Flintridge Prep 10
Hunter Roberts scored five goals for the Eagles in a road win in the first round of the Division 4 playoffs.
Arroyo Grande was behind 4-1 in the first quarter but “Jack Alexander’s two goals in the first half proved to be the turning point in the match,” Arroyo Grande coach Steven Allen said.
The Eagles went on to score four more goals in the second and third quarter each to preserve the win.
Conner Sandman added three goals, while Josh Smith had two goals and Ryan Sverchek had one for Arroyo Grande (18-11), which will play in the quarterfinals Saturday, likely at home.
Segerstrom 19, Morro Bay 3
Ryan Kitzman, Lucas Jakovich, and Travis Chirman each had a goal for the Pirates (11-16) in a Divsion 6 playoff loss on the road.
