Nipomo High’s Cynthia Navis shot a 6-over 78 in the CIF-Southern Section Northern individual regional at the River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard on Monday to qualify for the Southern Section individual championship and WSCGA qualifying tournament next Thursday in Chino Hills.
Navis was one of 11 players tied at 78, with only nine spots remaining for the second stage. The senior made a five on the first playoff hole while enough other players shot either six or seven, and Navis advanced.
Righetti freshman and PAC 8 champion Sarah Fouratt also played her way inside the top 36 to qualify for the next round, shooting a 75.
The next-best finisher from the county was San Luis Obispo’s Neha Sikand, who shot an 86.
Also competing were Morro Bay’s Lilly Keough (91), Arroyo Grande’s Kinsey McBryde (95), Nipomo’s Erich Shusterich (96), Mission Prep’s Sydney Houghian (97), and Nipomo’s Brooke Cuzick (109).

Ashlyn Herlihy and Emily Sonny combined for 25 kills and the Eagles remained undefeated in the PAC 8 with a 25-9, 25-17, 25-18 win at home.
Herlihy had 13 kills, three aces and two blocks while Sonny recorded 12 kills, 11 digs and five blocks. Alaina Hogeboom added 36 assists and three kills for Arroyo Grande (21-3, 11-0), and Kacee Fox — who was playing against her father, Mission Prep coach Chuck Fox — had 14 digs.
Noelle Laird and Madison Boncich both had seven kills for the Royals (8-5, 6-5). Catherine Ikeda had 13 assists, and Sammi Fernandez added 12 digs.
