Emily Sonny had 17 kills and seven blocks, and Alaina Hogeboom had 45 assists as the Arroyo Grande High girls volleyball team beat San Luis Obispo 3-1 at home on Tuesday night by scores of 25-4, 26-24, 23-25, 25-8.
The Eagles struck an early lead taking the first set as San Luis Obispo standout Holland Boege sprained an ankle, forcing her to miss the rest of the match and the Tigers to change their style of play.
“San Luis Obispo came into the second set playing more aggressive and carefree,” Arroyo Grande coach Ernie Santa Cruz said.
The Tigers’ Morgan and Rilee Day had 17 and 15 kills, respectively, stepping up in place of the injured Boege in tight second set and third sets.

However, the Eagles efficient play proved to be too much, as they committed only five hitting errors in the match.
Ashlyn Herlihy had 19 kills for Arroyo Grande (19-3, 9-0 PAC 8), while Merissa Brancart had 32 assists and Callie Hamari had 29 digs for San Luis Obispo (18-6, 8-2).
Atascadero 3, Mission Prep 0
Brooke Harbottle had 29 assists to help the Greyhounds defeat Mission Prep 25-19, 26-24, 25-18. Sabrina Degnan added 14 digs, Kaylie Griffin had 13 kills, and Maureen Cracknell had nine kills for Atascadero (14-11, 7-2 PAC 8).
Noelle Laird had 15 digs for Mission Prep (7-4, 5-4). Eleri Perryman handed out 14 assists, Bella Casola had 12 digs, and Jennifer Laird had nine kills for the Royals.
St. Joseph 3, Paso Robles 2
The Bearcats lost a back-and-forth match 26-24, 15-25, 25-22, 22-25, 15-8.
Maddi Chace had 12 kills and five blocks, and Kiara Gable added 11 kills and five aces.
Coleen Wiest distributed 30 assists for Paso Robles (11-10, 3-7 PAC 8).
Coastal Christian 3, Maricopa 0
Roni Garrison had 11 kills, and Belle Unger added 22 digs as the Conquerors swept 25-22, 25-13, 25-17.
Delaney Springer had seven aces, and Audrey Berdar registered 17 assists for Coastal Christian (4-6, 4-5 Coast Valley League).
Coast Union 3, Shandon 0
Gigi Stoothoff had nine aces and five kills, and Janel Bohey had 14 aces as the Broncos won on the road 25-16, 25-18, 25-4.
Olivia Zamora had eight kills, and Sage Radecki added 24 assists for Coast Union (11-4, 9-0 CVL).
Arroyo Grande 18, Pioneer Valley 0
Jillian Burns swept her sets for the Eagles (17-4, 12-0 PAC 8), and the doubles team of Melina Rodgers and Mikayla Landers won 6-1, 6-0, 6-0.
The win marked the 60th consecutive league win and the fifth straight league title for Arroyo Grande.
San Luis Obispo 14, Atascadero 4
The doubles team of Maddy Handy and Nicole Kasper swept its sets for the Tigers.
Nicoline Breytenbach won 6-3, 6-0, 6-0 but it wasn’t enough for Atascadero (14-6, 8-4 PAC 8).
Paso Robles 18, Mission Prep 0
Lindsey Horst won 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 to lead the Bearcats (9-8, 5-7 PAC 8).
Katie Evenson won 6-0, 6-0, and Regan Dobroth also won 6-0.
Templeton 11, Nipomo 7
Mili Proft swept her three sets 6-0 for Templeton (6-10, 5-7 LPL).
Bijou Burns won 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, and Ashley Barnes won her singles sets 6-0, 6-1 before being subbed out.
The doubles team of Lauren Shin and Kiley Keohen won 7-5, 6-1, 4-6 for the Eagles.
Lompoc 10, Morro Bay 8
Alzbeta Hermanova won 6-2, 6-0, 6-0 while Skye Schwellenbach and Tess Badrigian each won twice in singles for the Pirates.
June Janzen and Kaylee Denham added a doubles set win for Morro Bay (6-10, 4-8 LPL).

Atascadero 19, St. Joseph 11
Dylan Linnekamp had seven goals, and Blake Archibald added three more for .Atascadero (12-10, 2-3 PAC 8), which had nine different goal scorers.
San Luis Obispo 9, Paso Robles 7
Emerson Trout helped secure a victory for San Luis Obispo with four goals. Goalie Connor Troy had eight saves and six steals, and Bo Crozier added two goals for the Tigers (16-5, 3-2 PAC 8).
Wyatt Spencer had three goals, and Cy Quinn added two for Paso Robles (7-15, 2-3).
