The Righetti High boys water polo team beat visiting Arroyo Grande 17-5 on Tuesday evening in a matchup of the area’s top two teams.
Josh Smith was the only multiple goal scorer for the Eagles, recording a pair of goals.
Righetti, the top-ranked team in CIF-Southern Section Division 4, got out to a quick lead, scoring nine goals in the first half. The Warriors continued their pace by outscoring Arroyo Grande 8-1 in the second half.
Righetti held a 4-3 first-half lead before going on a 9-2 run for a commanding 13-5 lead.

Joc Alexander, Ryan Sverichek, and Hunter Roberts also scored for the Eagles (1-2, 1-1 PAC 8), who are ranked fifth in Division 4.
San Luis Obispo 15, Atascadero 7
Coming out of the half with the score tied at 5 Emerson Trout scored six of his eight goals in the second half, and Connor Troy had eight saves in helping the Tigers (9-1) pull away in the second half.
Blake Archibald had four goals, and James Fisher had eight saves for the Greyhounds (3-6, 1-1 PAC 8).
Arroyo Grande 16, Paso Robles 2
The doubles team of Angelica Gagliano and Olivia Madison were the only three-set winners (6-0, 6-0, 6-1) as substitutes saw significant playing time for the Eagles (8-2, 4-0 PAC 8).
Arroyo Grande’s doubles teams dropped only 10 games in winning all nine of their sets.
St. Joseph 18, Mission Prep 0
Jane Clark won the lone singles game in a rough day for the Royals (0-3), losing her set 6-1.
Atascadero 10, Righetti 8
The doubles team of Victoria Thek and Charlotte Holt won 6-2, 6-1, 6-1 for the Greyhounds.
Singles player Nicoline Breytenback won her sets 6-4, 6-0, 6-0, and the doubles team of Clare Corbin and Natalie Manier won 7-5, 6-4, 6-4 for Atascadero (8-3, 3-1 PAC 8).
Morro Bay 11, Nipomo 7
Alzbeta Hermanova won all three of her sets 6-0 for for Morro Bay (4-4, 2-2 Los Padres League).
Tess Badrgian won her sets 6-4, 6-3, 6-1, and Skye Schwellenbach dropped a set 6-2 before winning 6-3, 6-2. The doubles team of June Janzen and Kaylee Denham won two of three sets.
For Nipomo (2-6, 0-4 LPL), the doubles team of Ashley Jimenez and Monica Guerrero won 6-0, 6-1, 6-2, and the tandem of Elle Lopez and Dani Cardenas won two of their three sets.
Templeton 11, Santa Maria 7
Mili Proft won 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 in singles for the Eagles.
Bijou Burns won her sets 6-4, 6-0, 6-2. In doubles, Lauren Shin and Kiley Keohen won 6-1, 6-2, 6-3 for Templeton (2-5).
San Luis Obispo 3, Paso Robles 0
Merissa Brant’s 32 assists, and Holland Boege’s 12 digs and 10 kills led the Tigers to a 25-17, 25-12, 25-23 road win.
After dropping the first two sets, the Bearcats led 20-17 in the third before San Luis Obispo (10-2, 2-0 PAC 8) won the next six points to regain the lead for good.
Maddi Chace had eight kills and two blocks for Paso Robles (8-6, 0-2 PAC 8).
Arroyo Grande 3, Righetti 1
Alaina Hogeboom’s 56 assists, and Ashlyn Herlihy’s 24 kills led the Eagles to a 25-20, 25-12, 22-25, 25-17 home win.
Emily Sonny added 19 kills for Arroyo Grande (10-2, 2-0 PAC 8).
Mission Prep 3, Pioneer Valley 0
Jennifer Laird and Madison Boncich led the Royals in kills with 10 and eight, respectively, while Noelle Laird had five aces and Eleri Perryman had 14 assists.
Katherine Ikeda added 12 assists in the 25-17, 25-11, 25-20 victory for Mission Prep (2-1, 1-1 PAC 8).
Atascadero 3, St. Joseph 0
Atascadero got its second league win, 25-9, 25-21, 25-11, behind Katherine Sedley’s 13 kills and two aces.
Brooke Harbottle distributed 23 assists, and Maren Cracknell had eight kills and seven blocks for the Greyhounds (6-7, 2-0 PAC 8).
Templeton 3, Lompoc 1
Lucy Portillo had 11 kills, and Lauren Ralston added 15 digs and 10 kills to help the Eagles top Lompoc 25-9, 20-25, 25-15, 25-15.
Josi Kelly had 24 assists and seven aces, and libero Molly Schaner had 16 digs and eight aces for the Eagles (5-1, 2-0 LPL).
Morro Bay 3, Cabrillo 0
Keana Alden had 35 assists and 10 digs, and Sierra Emrick had 16 kills, 15 digs, and nine blocks in the Pirates’ 25-15, 25-20, 25-19 win.
Izzy Sala led Morro Bay (3-2, 2-0 LPL) in the service game with three aces to go with 20 digs and seven kills.
North County Christian 3, Shandon 0
Morrison sisters Aliyah, Gabrielle and Madison led the Crusaders, as Aliyah had eight kills, Gabrielle had 15 assists, and Madison had eight digs in the 25-21, 25-14, 25-14 victory.
Hannah Flaten had seven aces for North County Christian (11-4, 2-0 Coast Valley League).
Coast Union 3, Coastal Christian 0
After a tight 25-23 first set, the Broncos won the second and third sets 25-10, 25-14, as Janelle Bohey had eight digs, three kills, and three aces while Sage Redecki had 13 assists for Coast Union (3-4, 2-0 CVL).
Roni Garrison had 10 kills and 10 aces to go along with Delaney Springers 25 digs for Coastal Christian (0-2, 0-2).

Neha Sikand led the Tigers (5-1, 2-1 PAC 8), shooting a 3-over 38 for nine holes at Dairy Creek Golf Course.
Isabel Carpenter and Lisa Figueroa each shot a 46, and Lauren Goodell shot a 47. Bee Soll added a 48.
Nipomo 276, Paso Robles 307
Erin Shusterich shot a 44 to lead Nipomo on the par-35 Paso Robles Golf Clube nine-hole course.
Brooke Cuzick shot a 52, and Carah Franks added a 56 for the Titans.
For Paso Robles (1-2), Mary Hambley shot a 55, and Mikayla Stone added a 59.

Tessa Oates shot a 44 for nine holes in a loss for Arroyo Grande (1-4, 1-1 PAC 8) at par-35 Rancho Maria.
Rachel Harris had a 46, and Kinsey McBride shot a 48.
Righetti’s Sarah Fouratt was the medalist with a 37.

Savanah Garcia shot a 61 for nine holes, and Paige Baltimore had a 62 to lead the Pirates at par-36 Vandenberg Village Country Club for the Pirates (0-2 LPL).
