The Arroyo Grande High baseball team split its first two games at the Don Lugo Tournament in Chino Hills on Wednesday, beating Don Lugo 23-10 before losing to Palm Springs 9-3.
Robbie Silva was 5 for 5 in the first game with two doubles, five runs scored and four RBI for Arroyo Grande.
Joey DeLaRosa and Tyler Auerbach were both 4 for 4 in the win. DeLaRosa hit a three-run home run and had five RBI, while Auerbach had three RBI and four runs.
Carter Thomas was 2 for 2 with two singles and an RBI in the second game for the Eagles (6-4), who led Palm Springs 3-1 before giving up eight runs in the sixth inning.
Carpinteria 9, Mission Prep 6
The Royals had the lead twice — 2-0 after the first and 4-3 after the third — but could not overcome a four-run fourth inning by Carpinteria.
Trevor Fernandez was 2 for 3 with an RBI for Mission Prep (2-9), and Chance Keegan was 2 for 4 with an RBI.
San Luis Obispo 18, St. Joseph 0
Mason Hansen didn’t drop a game in his singles sets as the Tigers swept all their matches at home.
Chase Braun only dropped one game, and Ryan Hsieh dropped just two in singles.
San Luis Obispo’s (13-1, 5-0 PAC 7) doubles pairing of Noah Cleere and Alex Dill dropped only one game en route to its sweep.
Santa Barbara 17, Arroyo Grande 1
The Eagles lost on the road as Derek Lakowske won the only set.
Atascadero 420, St. Joseph 430
Ryan O’Connell was the individual medalist for the Greyhounds, shooting a 9-over 81 at the Santa Maria Country Club.
Atascadero (3-1, 2-1 PAC 7) also had Brandon Erickson and Donny Hederickson shoot 82.
The following baseball games were rescheduled because of Wednesday’s inclement weather: Atascadero at Pioneer Valley, Paso Robles at St. Joseph and Righetti at San Luis Obispo.
The Atascadero and San Luis Obispo games will be played today at 4:30 p.m. Paso Robles and St. Joseph will play two games today at Paso Robles and one Saturday at St. Joseph.
