The San Luis Obispo High baseball team fell 10-9 to Righetti after the potential tying run was thrown out at home to the end the game.
Sinjin Todd hit a two-out, bases-loaded double in the bottom of the seventh that scored two runs, but the runner at first was thrown out on a close play at the plate. Todd finished 2 for 4 with the double, three RBI and a run scored in Friday’s game.
The Tigers (3-5, 1-2 PAC 7) led 5-4 after the fifth inning, but a couple of errors and a Righetti grand slam put the Warriors up 10-5 after the top of the sixth.
Garrett Giovannelli (1-2) pitched six innings for San Luis Obispo and gave up 10 runs —seven earned — with six strikeouts and was 2 for 3 at the plate with two runs scored, one RBI and four stolen bases.
Joey Benadiba was 2 for 4 with a run and a RBI, and Brent Viescas was 2 for 4 with a RBI for the Tigers.
Templeton 8, Nipomo 2
The Eagles scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to erase a 1-0 deficit and break the game open.
Spencer Howard gave up two runs — one earned — in five innings while striking out eight, allowing two hits and walking one.
Andy Garretson was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI and pitched a scoreless sixth for the Eagles (6-0, 2-0 Los Padres League).
Peter Zippi was 2 for 3, with both hits coming in the fifth inning, with an RBI, and Michael Frigon was 1 for 1 with two walks, two runs and three stolen bases for Templeton.
Morro Bay 6, Orcutt Academy 2
Curtis Simmons was 2 for 3 with two RBI in the win for the Pirates.
Noah Garcia and Shasta Clokey were each 2 for 3 for Morro Bay (3-5), and Dan Beavers picked up the win with two innings of relief work for the Pirates.
Coast Union 12, Coastal Chr. 2, 5 innings
Gehrig Kniffen (1-0) had eight strikeouts and allowed two hits in three innings, and was also 1 for 3 at the plate with a triple and three RBI to lead the Broncos (2-4, 1-0 Coast Valley League) past the visiting Conquerors.
Quintin Raethke was 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI and did not allow a hit in two innings of relief for Coast Union.
Thomas Lindstaedt (0-1) struck out two in two innings for Coastal Christian (0-1). Brandon Spiller was 1 for 2.
Caruthers 4, Mission Prep 3
Kieran McQuade hit an RBI single for the Royals (2-3) in the seventh inning, but Mission Prep could not overtake the visiting Blue Raiders.

Nipomo 4, Templeton 2, 9 innings
Courtney Cuzick struck out 16 and allowed four hits over nine innings for the Titans as they defeated the Eagles in Templeton.
Destiny Fryckman was 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored, and Saundra Renner scored two runs and was 2 for 3 at the plate, including the go-ahead RBI double in the ninth inning for the Titans (8-0).
Corinne Barto pitched a complete game in the loss, giving up six hits and striking out four while walking seven — five intentionally.
Ashley Stevens was 1 for 4 with a double, and Kristina Raine had three stolen bases for the Eagles (1-5, 0-2 LPL).
Morro Bay 12, Orcutt Academy 5
Jordan Ferring was 3 for 5 with three RBI to lead the Pirates (4-6) over the Spartans.
Rachel Mackey (1-3) gave up four runs and had six strikeouts in five innings, and Madelyn Martinez was 3 for 5 with three runs scored for Morro Bay.
Coast Union 20, Coastal Christian 0, 5 innings
Ellie Magnuson struck out 10 in a one-hitter for the Broncos, who won their Coast Valley League opener.
Magnuson added two hits and two RBI at the plate, and Ashley Martinez was 2 for 3 with five RBI, including a three-run triple.
Patty Bucio was 3 for 3 with two doubles and five runs scored for Coast Union.
Coastal Christian falls to 1-1 in league play.
BOYS TENNIS
Valencia 12, Arroyo Grande 6
Eli Whittle swept 6-4, 6-3, 6-0 in singles for the Eagles (8-3) as they fell on the road to the Vikings.
Arroyo Grande’s Sean Hollister also swept 2-6, 6-0, 6-1.

Joey Milbrandt won the diving competition with 180.4 points for the Eagles boys as they defeated the Greyhounds in a PAC 7 matchup.
Zach Stevens won the boys 200-yard freestyle in 1 minute, 50.81 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 4:51.83 for Arroyo Grande (4-1, 2-1).
For the Eagles girls, Corryn Hanes won the 100 individual medley (2:17.87) and the 100 backstroke (1:03.12), while Haili Jackson won the 500 freestyle (5:44.78).
Anna Perry won the diving competition for the Eagles girls (4-1, 2-1) with 146.25 points.

Taylor Page won the 200 freestyle (1:55.38) and 100 butterfly (57.67) for the Bearcats in their boys home win.
Collin Moore won the 200 IM (2:07.49) and 100 freestyle (51.51), and Morgan Moore won the 50 freestyle (24.30) and 100 backstroke (59.46) for Paso Robles.
Grant Britton won the diving event for the Bearcats (2-2).
Erika Smeltzer won the 50 freestyle (27.58) for the Paso Robles girls, and teammate Laileha Vermy won the 100 backstroke in 1:14.90.
Amanda Gritzfeld won the diving competition for the Bearcats (3-1).

Keery Kennedy won the boys 50-yard freestyle and the 100 freestyle as the Pirates swept the Braves in Lompoc.
Travis Chirman added a win in the 200 individual medley for the Morro Bay boys (3-1, 2-0 LPL).
Katie White won the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly, and Olivia MacDonald won the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke for the Pirates girls (2-2, 2-0 LPL).
GIRLS: Templeton 105, Santa Ynez 80
The Eagles girls won their LPL opener behind a strong performance from Marina Wesner.
Wesner had automatic qualifying times in winning the 200 individual medley (2:26) and the 100 butterfly (1:05.6).
Ande Miller qualified with a win in the 200 freestyle (2:08.0), and Joely Camacho qualified with a win in the 500 freestyle (6:06.8).
