The visiting Templeton High baseball team shut out Pioneer Valley 7-0 on Thursday.
Michael Frigon was 4 for 4 with two RBI to lead the Eagles (2-0). Spencer Howard (1-0) threw three scoreless innings and Andy Garretson and Chase Koehler combined to complete the shutout.
Garretson had two hits, and Austin Alarcon had an RBI single and two walks. Donald Syracuse had a two-run single for the Eagles, who were coming off a win over San Luis Obispo on Tuesday.
Arroyo Grande 6, Santa Barbara 6, tie, 8 innings

The Eagles (1-0-1) tied it with two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning without getting a hit.
The first runner reached on catcher’s interference. The next runner walked, and then the Eagles scored after three passed balls by the Santa Barbara catcher. Arroyo Grande’s Garrett Ball was 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored.
Cabrillo 2, San Luis Obispo 1
Ryan Anderson (0-1) pitched six innings and gave up two earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out two, but the Tigers (0-2) were shut down offense.
Domenic Fountain was 1 for 4 with a triple, Sutter Wells was 1 for 3 with a double and Garrett Giovannelli was 1 for 3 for the Tigers.
Righetti 17, Morro Bay 3
Zach Smith was 2 for 2 and scored two runs for the Pirates in their loss to Righetti.
Elijah Garcia was 2 for 2, and Colt Caravalho had two RBI for Morro Bay (0-2).
Mission Prep 6, Santa Maria 2
In five innings, Billy Donner (1-0) gave up two runs and three hits and struck out five in the Royals’ victory.
Kieran McQuad hit a single to drive in two runs in the fifth inning with two outs for Mission Prep (2-0).
Anthony Fernandez was 3 for 3 with one RBI, and Trevor Fernandez was 2 for 4 with one RBI.

Logan Honeycutt had 10 kills to lead Arroyo Grande in its season-opening game over Nipomo 25-18, 25-13, 26-24.
Chandler Mankins had nine kills, Cameron Arnet had six kills and Jack Empey had 36 assists.
Tyler Monroe had seven kills for Nipomo (0-2). Brandon Buchan had six kills and three aces, and Alex Martinez had 17 assists.

The Tigers swept 25-11, 25-17, 25-13.
Parker Lauritzen had 11 kills, and Troy Davis had eight. Kieran Hansen had 35 assists for San Luis Obispo (2-0).

The Pirates won 19-25, 17-25, 25-16, 25-10, 15-10.
Chad Porter had 16 kills and four blocks. Jackson Chavez had 15 kills and four aces, and Cody Cohen had 14 kills, six digs and nine blocks.
Mission Prep 3, Pioneer Valley 1
The Royals (1-1) came back to win a close match 16-25, 25-16, 25-22, 28-26.
Matt Souchek had 15 kills, Chris Garner had 13 kills, and Sean O’Connor had 32 assists.

Boys: San Luis Obispo 101, Atascadero 34; Girls: San Luis Obispo 95, Atascadero 40
Sadie Winninghoff won the girls long jump (16 feet, 1 inch) and the high jump (4-8) to lead the Tigers in the PAC 7 dual opener for both team
Olivia Carmo won the 1,600 meters in 5 minutes, 54 seconds and the 3,200 in 12:07.
Atascadero’s Angelica Cusworth won the 300 hurdles in 46.7.
For the San Luis Obispo boys, Connor Hall won discus with a distance of (145-9) and the pole vault (15-0), Nate Greenelsh won the 100 (11.3) and the 200 (23.3), and Chris Toh won the long jump (18-7) and triple jump (39-10).
The Greyhounds’ Cole Mueller won the high jump (5-8) and the 300 hurdles in 47.6 seconds.
Boys: Righetti 74, Paso Robles 62; Girls: Paso Robles 116, Righetti 20
Austin Borba swept the 110 hurdles (17.4) and 300 hurdles (44.3) and won the 400 in 54.0 for Paso Robles in its season-opening PAC 7 dual.
On the girls side for the Bearcats (1-0), Jennifer Yuro won discus (86-11) and the shot put (31-4), Michaela Howard won the 100 hurdles (16.9) and the 300 hurdles (52.0), and Ashley Davis won the 1,600 (5:41) and the 3,200 (13:24).
Boys: Pioneer Valley 70, Arroyo Grande 60; Girls: Arroyo Grande 112, Pioneer Valley 22
The Eagles’ Joey Reeves cleared 16 feet in the boys pole vault, just one inch short of the school record.
Reeves also cleared 15-6 in the California Indoor Meet in Fresno on Feb. 18.
Blake Maule won the 1,600 in 4:24.4 and the 800 in 2:07.68 for Arroyo Grande, and Elijah Holt took the 100 hurdles in 14.58 seconds and the 200 in 24.05.
Madison Jacobs won the shot for Arroyo Grande (1-0) girls at 40-53⁄4 and the discus at 139-6. Alex Mero won the high jump (5-2) and triple jump (31-10) and Jocelyn Reynolds won the 1,600 (5:29.)2 and the 3,200 (12:32.12) for the Eagles.
Boys: Nipomo 89, Morro Bay 45; Girls: Nipomo 88, Morro Bay 43
Kendrick Keszler led the Nipomo boys in the season-opening Los Padres League dual meet, winning the 110 hurdles (19.0), the long jump (19-3), the triple jump (39-4) and high jump (5-8).
Kyra Neko broke a school record in the girls 1,600 with a time of 5:24.4, and she also won the 3,200 in 12:54.
Allie Molesky won the 100 hurdles (19.1), the 300 hurdles (53.0) and the triple jump (30-6), Kelly Springford won the 400 in 1:05 and the 200 in 29.0, and Taylor Nevitt took the shot (34-0) and the discus (113-0).
Atascadero 425, Mission Prep 512, Morro Bay 527
Tristen Ioppini was the medalist for Atascadero, shooting a 5-over 76 at Morro Bay Golf Course.
Brandon Erickson shot an 80 for the Greyhounds (1-0).
Robby Donaldson shot an 87 for the Pirates (1-2).

The Eagles’ Mitch Martin and Josh Schnieder both shot a 4-over 76 at Cypress Ridge Golf Course.
The Titans’ Adam Burrola shot an 89, and Keenan Camacho and Jacob Camacho both shot 90.

John McElgunn and Alan Hernandez both won two singles sets for the for the Broncos (0-2), whose other two wins came from the doubles team of Miles Trevelyan and Daniel Gowdy.
