The Mission Prep football team was named the top seed in the CIF-Southern Section Northeast Division playoffs, and Atascadero High got a surprising at-large bid in the Northern Division, highlighting several area teams that learned they made the section playoffs Sunday.
The Royals (8-1) will host Frazier Mountain (6-4), an at-large team from the High Desert League, on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
In the Northern Division, PAC 7 co-champs Arroyo Grande (8-2) will host Hart (7-3). San Luis Obispo, which finished third in the PAC 7, will travel to Canyon (7-2-1) in Santa Clarita. Paso Robles earned an at-large berth and will travel to Valencia (7-3), which won the Foothill League and is the division’s No. 2 seed. The Greyhounds (4-6) also got an at-large berth and will travel to face Golden League champion and the division’s No. 1 seed, Palmdale (10-0).
In the Western Division, Los Padres League runner-up Morro Bay (7-3) travels to Inglewood (7-3), and Templeton (7-3), which finished third in the LPL, will play at Santa Monica (7-3), the Ocean League champion. LPL champ Lompoc is the division’s No. 1 seed and could face Templeton in the semifinals if both teams win twice.

CIF-Southern Section playoff pairings
Three county teams from the PAC 7 and one from the LPL earned playoff spots.
In Division 4, PAC 7 runner-up Arroyo Grande (21-8), ranked No. 5 in the Division 4 poll, will travel to play Citrus Belt League champion Redlands East Valley (19-10) on Thursday at 5 p.m.
In Division 4 wild-card games, San Luis Obispo (15-11) will host Beverly Hills (12-14), and Paso Robles (12-11) will travel to Redlands (10-15), with both games scheduled for Tuesday at 5 p.m.
PAC 7 champion Righetti (23-7) is the top-seeded team in Division 4 and is in San Luis Obispo’s side of the bracket, with any potential matchup with the Tigers coming in the semifinals.
In a Division 6 wild-card game, Morro Bay (12-13) will travel to Palm Desert (17-7), which is ranked
No. 6 in the division poll, on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
