Arroyo Grande High’s cross country teams opened their seasons Wednesday by sweeping the Lompoc Invitational.
The Eagles took the top three spots and five of the top seven in scoring 21 points to win the boys title over San Marcos and Santa Barbara.
Arroyo Grande had five runners in the top 13 to win the girls race with 37 points with San Marcos second.
Blake Maule, Trevor Cowan and Jonathan Corley took the top three boys spots for Arroyo Grande. Maule and Cowan were both timed in 16 minutes, 9 seconds over the three-mile course, and Corley was a second back. Nate Nash (sixth, 16:18) and John Myles (seventh, 16:19) completed the Eagles’ scoring.
Arroyo Grande’s Jocelyn Reynels was the girls individual winner in 19:04. Teammates Angela Gemignani (19:11), Leah Rise Ducuy (19:41), Samantha Hernandez (21:00) and Shannah Minarei (21:02) finished third, sixth, 12th and 13th for the Eagles.

San Luis Obispo posted its lowest dual score of the season in a 227-307 nonleague girls golf win over Orctt Academy at Dairy Creek Gold Course.
The Tigers’ Nora Zakaria took medalist honors with a 41 on the nine-hole, par-35 course. Neha Sikand shot a 42 for the Tigers (3-0), San Psau shot a 46 and Elizabeth Soll fired a 47.
