The Arroyo Grande High cross country team swept a five-team meet at River Park in Lompoc on Wednesday.
The Eagles' boys team posted 17 points, and its girls squad 18, outdistancing San Marcos, Pioneer Valley, Lompoc and St. Joseph.
Employing a training-run approach, Arroyo Grande's Josh Davis, Trevor Cowan, Blair Libby, Jonathan Corley and Blake Maule simultaneously finished in 16 minutes, 38 seconds to claim second through sixth places.
The results were similar on the girls side, where the Eagles' Hannah Stevens, Emily Johnston, Amanda Trecartin and Natalie Hagler also ran in a pack, taking second through fifth at 19:38. Lupita Leon added a seventh-place finish at 20:41.

BOYS WATER POLO
Atascadero 12, Morro Bay 1
Chad Ponek had three goals, while teammates Eric da Gama and Austin Miller chipped in two apiece for the Greyhounds.
In goal, Matt Buckingham made two saves for the Greyhounds (4-3).
Nik Benko tallied the lone score for the Pirates (0-1), who got a combined nine saves from goalkeepers Mac Reinhart and Shane Crockett.

The Warriors' Makayla Mier shot a 38 for medalist honors at par-36 Hunter Ranch. Mier, who has won three straight PAC 7 individual titles, qualified for the U.S. Junior Championships this past summer.
For the Bearcats (3-1, 0-1 PAC 7), Ashley Levanduski carded a 46, followed by Tori Sepulveda's 50 and Kim Bergin's 52.
Paso Robles will compete with Atascadero and Arroyo Grande today at 2 p.m. at Cypress Ridge Golf Course.
