Camarillo High quarterback Jake Constantine was too much for the Arroyo Grande football team to handle Friday night and led the Scorpions to a 27-13 nonleague win.
The 6-foot-1 senior Scorpions quarterback escaped the Eagles pressure all night and finished with 246 yards passing and two touchdowns.
The Eagles offense, known for big plays, was forced to settle for field goals and was held to three points in the second half.
Key Stat: The Scorpions defensive line sacked Arroyo Grande quarterback Sawyer May six times in the second half and limited the running game. May did not throw a touchdown pass for the first time this season and finished 11 of 18 passing for 132 yards.
Never miss a local story.
Bradley Mickey: Arroyo Grande's star added to his touchdown total, but this time he did it throwing the ball. In the second quarter, Mickey took a pitch from May and tossed a 26-yard touchdown to Jeremiah Wright. Mickey has now scored a touchdown rushing, passing, receiving and on an interception return for a touchdown for six on the season.
No DeLaRosa: Senior linebacker/running back Joey DeLaRosa was missed. He sat out Friday's game with a foot injury and the Scorpions took advantage. Camarillo running back Isisah Otis had two rushing touchdowns and finished the game with 65 yards on 18 carries. DeLaRosa's replacement on offense, Jonah Collett had 6 carries for 16 yards.
