At Camarillo, the Paso Robles High football team was outscored 21-0 in the second half Friday in a 41-14 nonleague loss.
Penalties proved costly for the Bearcats (0-2) with two Christian Erickson scores being called back. In the first quarter, an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown was called back. Later in the half, an 8-yard Erickson touchdown was called back on third down. On the next play, the Camarillo defense stuffed Erickson fourth-and-1.
Erickson had 125 yards rushing on 20 carries, but failed to get into the end zone.
The same can't be said for his counterpart. Camarillo senior running back Isaiah Otis gashed the Bearcats defense all night and racked up 253 yards rushing and four touchdowns, two of which were in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
Quarterback Justin Davis scored both Bearcats touchdowns on quarterback sneaks in the first half and the Bearcats trailed 20-14 at the break.
Paso Robles wide receiver Steven Schouten finished with 3 catches for 69 yards.
The Bearcats will host Cabrillo on Friday.
