Recap: Hawaii vs. New Mexico St

Leon Wright-Jackson only rushed for 43 yards, but scored two touchdowns to lead the Hawaii Warriors to a 24-6 victory over the New Mexico State Aggies in a Western Athletic Conference battle at Aloha Stadium.

Bryant Moniz threw for 294 yards for Hawaii (4-6, 2-5 WAC), while Shane Austin also saw time under center, throwing for 72 yards and one touchdown in the win. Regardless of who was the quarterback Greg Salas had an amazing showing, as the wideout hauled in 16 receptions for 196 yards and one touchdown.

Jeff Fleming had a tough contest for NMSU (3-7, 1-4), as the quarterback threw for just 111 yards and also tossed two interceptions. Tonny Glynn led the ground game for the Aggies with 74 yards on 11 totes.

Touchdown runs of three yards and 11 yards by Wright-Jackson gave the Warriors a 14-0 lead after one quarter of action.

Hawaii pushed its lead to 17-0 early in the second frame when Scott Enos booted a 38-yard field goal.

Davon House intercepted a pass from Moniz and returned it 58 yards for a touchdown. However, New Mexico State was unable to convert the two-point conversion, leaving the score at 17-6 in favor of Hawaii.

The Warriors pushed their lead to 24-6 early in the final frame when Austin hit Salas with a 12-yard touchdown pass.

Hawaii racked up 26 first downs in the contest and finished with 485 total yards.
