Casey Bloomquist struck out a career-high 10 batters Saturday as the Cal Poly baseball team beat Wagner 3-1 at Baggett Stadium.
The Mustangs scored first in the fourth inning when Jimmy Allen doubled in Nick Torres. The Seahawks responded and tied the score in the fifth on a sacrifice fly.
Cal Poly regained the lead in the sixth when Mark Mathias doubled down the line to score Brian Mundell. Mundell was 2 for 4 with two runs scored.

The Cougars snapped their six-game losing streak and won their first conference game of the season against the Vaqueros.
Cuesta (5-14, 1-5 Western State Conference) scored three runs in the fourth inning off base hits from Myles Franklin, Steven Pico and RJ Hassey. An RBI groundout by David Belt drove in Franklin.
Anthony Baleto got his first win of the year on the mound, pitching six innings, giving up five hits and striking out four.
Cal Poly 6, Fresno State 1
Sierra Hyland pitched a complete, seven-inning game for the Mustangs and got her 11th win of the season.
Hyland tallied eight strikeouts and just one walk for Cal Poly (14-11).
At the plate, Hyland was 2 for 4 with two RBI, and shortstop Kim Westlund also went 2 for 4, with an RBI.
TRACK AND FIELD
Men: Cal Poly 115, Fresno State 67; Cal Poly 95, Fresno State 95, Tie
The Mustangs won 11 of 18 events of the men’s side as Chris Frias and Sean Davidson finished first and second in the 3,000 meters. Frias finished in 8 minutes, 6.66 seconds and Davidson in 8:08.47 as the next closest runner finished 23 seconds behind.
Sophomore Nick Bultman finished second in the hammer throw at 180 feet, 5 inches, moving up to seventh all-time in school history.
Walter Finney won the 200 in 21.63 and was on the second-place 4x100 relay (41.3), just two-hundredths behind the Bulldogs.
Sophomore Kendal Nielsen won the women’s triple jump (40-7 3-4) and moved up to fifth place on the school’s career list.
Ajah Love won the women’s 200 in 24.32.
Cal Poly 4, Penn 1
Ben Donovan topped Nikola Kucovic 6-2, 6-1 in the home match, and Marco Comuzzo won 6-3, 6-4.
Jurgen De Jager defeated his opponent 6-3, 6-5 (7-5).
The Cal Poly (7-8) doubles team of Devin Barber and Corey Pang won, 6-3.
Texas-Arlington 4, Cal Poly 0
The doubles team of Kathryn Webb and Mika Padmanabhan were the only Mustangs (3-7) to win a set, topping their opponents, 8-3.
