The Cuesta College men’s basketball team got a team-high 23 points and 13 rebounds from Roger Guardia in a 76-74 road win over Oxnard on Wednesday.
Former Templeton High standout Seth Koenig added 12 points and eight rebounds, and Xavier Myll-eville scored 14. The Cougars (17-4, 3-0 Western State Conference) won despite shooting 36 percent from the field. Oxnard shot 43 percent from the floor but was just 1 of 20 from 3-point range.
Philip Holmes paced Oxnard with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
Henok Yigzaw was the fourth Cuesta player to finish in double figures, scoring 14 and hitting four 3-pointers.

Jayme Salim had eight points for the Cougars (3-13, 0-3 WSC), who fell behind 23-2 to start the game and never recovered.
Raleigh O’Brien scored four points and added a team-high six rebounds.
Cuesta was just 9 of 49 from the floor for 18 percent.
Danika Edwards led Oxnard (11-4, 2-0) with 11 points.
