The Cal Poly softball team had four players earning all-Big West Conference recognition Wednesday.
Left fielder Emily Ceccacci, pitcher Sierra Hyland and Stephanie Heyward were all named to the all-Big West second team.
Cal Poly’s fourth selection was Chelsea Convissar to the Big West all-freshman team.
Ceccacci batted .271 during the regular season, but had a team leading .341 average in Big West games.
Never miss a local story.
Hyland, the Big West Pitcher of the Year and the Freshman Pitcher of the Year last year, won 17 games and ranked second in the conference in innings pitched (2571⁄3) and appearances (46). Hyland’s 46 appearances are a single-season school record and her 233 strikeouts on the year rank third-best in program history.
Heyward batted .318 and had 13 doubles — third among Big West hitters — and led Cal Poly with 24 runs.
Convissar had seven multi-hit games and had 12 sacrifices, the third-most in the conference and seventh in program single-season history.
