The Cal Poly men’s golf team finished tied for fourth Tuesday at the Nick Watney Invitational with a three-day total of 4-under 860 on the par-72 Sunnyside Golf Course in Fresno.
Arroyo Grande High graduate Mitchell Martin led the Mustangs, shooting a final-round 68 to finish at 207 and was second to the individual medalist Byron Meth of Pacific, who shot a 206. Cal Poly’s Jimmy Castles tied for 17th, shooting a 69 Tuesday and finished at 216 while Camden Price shot a 71 Tuesday and finished at 217 and tied for 19th.
Pacific also won the team title at 838.

After beating Ohio State’s Hunter Callahan 6-3, 7-5 on Monday, Cal Poly’s Ben Donovan was eliminated from the ITA All-American Championship on Tuesday in Tulsa, Okla., losing to North Carolina sophomore Jack Murray 6-4, 6-0.
