Tim Wise tripled home two runs, Michael Hoo added a two-run double, and Cal Poly's baseball team won 15-3 on Saturday in an exhibition game against a team made up of Cal Poly alumni, which featured Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Logan Schafer.
Alex Michaels, Jordan Ellis, Matt Russell and Jordan Brower had two hits apiece as Cal Poly snapped a 1-1 tie with a five-run rally in the second inning and never looked back.
The Mustangs’ projected Saturday starter Matt Imhof picked up the win, allowing three runs and seven hits in five innings.
Boston Red Sox farmhand Mike Miller led the alumni offense with two singles. Brandon Roberts, who played last season for the Colorado Rockies’ AAA franchise, had a double, the only extra-base hit for the alumni.

Schafer, Bobby Crocker (Oakland A’s organization), Jimmy Van Ostrand (Washington Nationals Organization), Jimmy Gardiner, Ryan Lee and Michael Young each singled.
Chavez and Brower each had triples while Ellis, Nick Torres and Hoo each doubled.
Cal Poly opens the season with a three-game, non-conference series at University of San Francisco.
Cuesta 7, Cañada 3
Murco Murillo (3-5) hit a two-run inside-the-park home run in the fifth inning to lead the Cougars in their home win.
The score was tied 3-3 after the third inning, then Cuesta pulled away in the fourth with an RBI double by Murillo, who finished with three RBI on the day.
Lucas Martin (2-0) had seven strikeouts in the complete-game win for the Cougars.
Cal Poly at Kajikawa Classic
The Mustangs (1-3) dropped both games in a doubleheader at the Arizona State-hosted Kajikawa Classic tournament, including a heartbreaking walk-off loss in nine innings to Stanford.
Cal Poly’s first game ended in a 10-3 loss to No. 13 Arizona. Jordan Yates (1-2) took the loss against the Sun Devils after allowing eight earned runs.
The Mustangs later fell to Stanford 7-6. Cal poly rallied to take the lead after giving up four runs in the first inning, but the Cardinal forced extra innings with a game-tying homer in the bottom of the seventh.
The Mustangs scored in the top of the ninth to take a 6-5 lead on Breana West’s RBI single, but the Cardinal rallied again, winning on Cassandra Rouland’s two-run double with two outs in the bottom of the ninth.
Ashley Romano was 2 for 4, and Kim Westlund was 2 for 3 for Cal Poly. Chloe Wurst (0-3) took the loss.
