The Cal Poly baseball team rallied for a 6-2 victory over Cal State Bakersfield on the road Tuesday behind designated hitter Alex Michaels, who was 3 for 4 with a double, a solo home run, two runs scored and two RBI.
Cal Poly (30-20) went up 1-0 in the top of the first after a Tim Wise triple and a Mitch Haniger RBI single.
After the Roadrunners (20-26) took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third, the Mustangs answered with one run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Two more runs in the top of the seventh gave Cal Poly a 6-2 lead.
Jimmy Allen was 2 for 5 with a double, a triple, an RBI and a run scored, Haniger was 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI and Chris Hoo was 2 for 5 with a double and a run scored for the Mustangs.
