The Cal Poly Athletics Hall of Fame will welcome four new athletes and one coach Oct. 7 in a ceremony at Embassy Suites.
The class includes football wide receiver Mike Amos, three-time All-American wrestler Ken Bos, men’s soccer standout Clay Harty, boxer Pete Godinez Sr. and women’s volleyball coach Mike Wilton.
Amos played at Cal Poly from 1969-72 and caught 79 passes for 1,589 yards and 13 touchdowns in three seasons. Bos was a Division II national championship in 1969 and and a third-place finisher in 1968.
Godinez Sr. earned silver medals in the Pacific Coast Intercollegiates as a sophomore and junior, while Harty became the school’s all-time best scorer with 16 goals in 1995.
Wilton served as the women’s volleyball coach from 1979-89 and sent nine teams to Division I playoffs.
Cal Poly's Adell withdraws from U.S. Women's Amateur
Cal Poly’s Asia Adell withdrew from the U.S. Women’s Amateur on Monday because of a pulled oblique.
Adell, who shot 14-over through the opening round of play, qualified for the event after finishing in the top eight at a tournament July 11.
