Cal Poly senior designated player Anna Cahn was named to the all-Big West Conference first team Tuesday. Mustangs junior outfielder Nora Sobczak earned an honorable mention nod.
Cahn became the first Cal Poly player ever to be named to an all-Big West team in all four of her years with the Mustangs. The Los Alamitos native led the Big West in home runs (14), slugging percentage (.727), on-base percentage (.500) and walks (38). She was also eighth in the conference with 30 RBI and batted a team-best .318.
Sobczak hit .315.
Big West champion Pacific nearly swept the conference’s top honors, as Nikki Armagost won Offensive Player of the Year, Kelsey Rodriguez claimed Freshman Field Player of the Year and Brian Kolze was named Coach of the Year.
Long Beach State’s Erin Jones-Wesley won Pitcher of the Year honors, and Cal State Fullerton’s K.C. Craddick was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year.
