Three Cal Poly athletes earned Big West Conference winter all-conference academic recognition when honors were announced Wednesday.
Rachel Clancy and Abby Bloetscher were both selections from the Mustangs women’s basketball team, and Matt Titchenal represented the men’s basketball team.
Clancy, who was Cal Poly’s second consecutive Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the year after averaging 16.9 points per game as a senior, was also a CoSIDA Academic All-America third-team selection.
To be eligible for the all-academic team, athletes must maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average, complete a full academic year at the member institution prior to the season and compete in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.
