Less than 24 hours after a disheartening five-set loss to Cal State Fullerton, the Cal Poly volleyball team swept No. 21 Long Beach State 25-18, 25-18, 25-21 in a Big West Conference match Saturday at Mott Gym.
The Mustangs (13-4, 3-1) hit nearly .400 as a team, led by Dominique Olowolafe (13 kills, .455 percentage) and Kristina Graven (13, .444).
Cal Poly held the defending conference champion 49ers (11-5, 1-2) to a .200 percentage.
Catie Smith added 12 kills for Cal Poly, and Sarah Cawrse dished out a match-high 43 assists.

The Mustangs will host UC Riverside on Friday to continue Big West play.
Cal Poly 1, UC Riverside 0, OT
Patrick Sigler scored the only goal in the 93rd minute to lead the Mustangs to a Big West Conference-opening overtime win.
Sigler got an assist from David Zamora to score from just outside the box to give Cal Poly (4-3, 1-0) the win.
The Mustangs outshot UC Riverside (3-6-1, 0-2) 15-13 and 6-4 in shots on goal.
Cal Poly will host Cal State Northridge on Wednesday to continue conference play.
WOMEN’S WATER POLO
Santa Rosa 14, Cuesta 9; Cuesta 12, Mt. San Antonio 5
Ally Bernard had a combined 10 goals to lead Cuesta to a split at the Rabobank Tournament at Cuesta.
Santa Rosa jumped out to a 6-1 lead after one quarter and held off the Cougars despite Bernard’s six goals.
Bernard scored four goals in the win over Mt. San Antonio, while Kristin Egger had three goals, and Sophie Mouret added two.
Loren Kasenberg made a combined 15 saves for the Cougars (8-8).
Cuesta at Santa Ana Tournament
Cuesta amassed 46 points and had two wrestlers finish in the top four in their weight classes en route to a seventh-place finish out of 24 teams.
Nestor Ruelas finished third in the 149-pound weight class, and Dan Colbert placed second at 197.
Fresno City College, with 143 points, took first place in the tournament with Cerritos (124.5) and Fresno City College 2 (67.5) coming in second and third, respectively.
