The Cal Poly women’s tennis team saw its top two singles players upset and was swept in doubles for the first time this season in a 6-1 makeup loss to Pepperdine.
The match was twice postponed by weather, but any amount of rain could have hardly been more dreary for the Mustangs.
The doubles pair of Brittany Blalock and Suzie Matzenauer, ranked No. 26 in the country, lost 8-5, and Blalock and Matzenauer — each ranked in the top 90 in singles — lost to lower-ranked players individually as well. Cal Poly (12-5) got its only victory at No. 5 singles, where Diane Filip got a three-set victory over Marie Zalameda.
