Alyssa Giannetti had seven saves and set the school record for career saves as the Cal Poly women’s soccer team beat Richmond 2-1 on Sunday at the Nike Soccer Classic.
Giannetti has 313 saves, breaking the mark of 308 set by Kristina Grigaitis from 1993-96.
Freshman Caitlyn Kreutz scored twice, including the game-winner in the 88th minute off an assist by Megan Abutin.
Kreutz also scored on a penalty kick in the 60th minute for the Mustangs (1-1-2).
Meaghan Carrigan scored in the fourth minute for Richmond (1-2-0).
Cal Poly hosts No. 3 Stanford (3-0-0) on Friday at 7 p.m.
