Three of Cal Poly’s first four football games of the the upcoming season will be broadcast on live television with Tuesday’s announcement of live broadcasts of the Sept. 5 game against Montana and the Sept. 26 game at Montana State.
The games against the two Montana schools will air live on the Central Coast CW 5, through Cal Poly’s parternership with KSBY. The CW 5 is a sister station of KSBY.
The Sept. 5 season opener against Montana at Alex G. Spanos Stadium is a 6 p.m. nonconference game.
Also slated for a live broadcast is the Sept. 26 Big Sky Conference opener against Montana State, the preseason conference favorite.
The game against the Bobcats in Bozeman, Mont., is a 12:35 p.m. scheduled start.
Montana, Montana State and Idaho State all tied for second in the Big Sky last year at 6-2, one game behind Eastern Washington.
The Mustangs (7-5 in 2014, 5-3 Big Sky) will also be on the Pac-12 Networks on Sept. 12 when they play at Arizona State. That game in Tempe, Ariz., is scheduled for an 8 p.m. kickoff.
The Sun Devils were picked second last week by media covering the Pac-12 to finish second in the South Division behind USC.
“Our continued partnership with KSBY permits more unprecedented access to Mustang Athletics,” Cal Poly athletic director Don Oberhelman said in a news release.
“The fact that we have Cal Poly football games televised locally is great for our fans and we are excited that KSBY has continued its expanded sports coverage with the Mustang Roundup that keeps our fans informed of all the great things going on with Cal Poly athletics.”
