The Cuesta College softball team split a Tuesday doubleheader — winning 5-2 and losing 8-4 to Moorpark — as Marissa Tabares pitched a compete game in both games.
In the first game, Tabares went 2 for 3 with two runs while Ami Hood, Savannah Johnson and Keana Arnold had an RBI each.
Tabares had two strikeouts, no walks, and gave up four hits as the Cougars added two more runs on a wild pitch and a passed ball.
In the second game, Hood gave Cuesta a 3-2 lead on a three-run home run in the third inning before Johnson added another run on a wild pitch in the fifth inning.
Moorpark (6-18, 2-8 Western State Conference) took the lead for good, scoring six runs in the fifth and sixth inning combined.
Tabares had four strikeouts and two walks for Cuesta (10-15, 6-4).

The Cal Poly baseball game versus Pepperdine at Baggett Stadium has been moved to today at 6 p.m.
The Cuesta College baseball game against Santa Barbara at Cuesta was postponed until Monday at 2:30 p.m.
Poly women’s golf finishes second
The Cal Poly women’s golf team finished second at UC Riverside’s Battle at the Rock tournament at the par-72 Oak Quarry Golf Club.
UC Riverside won the team title at 887, well ahead of Cal Poly’s 932.
Madison Hirsch shot a 77 in the final round to finish tied for eighth with a 229 total to lead the Mustangs.
Jamie Binns tied with Hirsch after shooting a 74 in the final round. Sophie Bergland posted a 76 to earn a three-round total of 231 to finish 11th.
