In response to Mr. W.R. Cole’s letter “U.S. education issues” (May 9): Nah, it won’t work, Mr. Cole. It’s all about parenting: bad parents, bad offspring. Why can’t socialists figure this out? It’s not complicated.
There are still plenty of good parents out there; ergo, there are still plenty of good students out there. A good student will find his way because he will accept nothing else but success. A bad student will fail because he has learned nothing but failure from his parents.
It’s all about parenting; the government is incapable of instilling in a student the willingness to accept the education that is handed to him on a silver platter, compliments of the 51 percent of us who pay for our shoddy liberal-run public educational system here in the U.S. Yet students with good parenting succeed despite our atrocious public school system. Parents, and only parents, can instill the drive to succeed in students.
The good news? Not to worry, there are still plenty of good parents out there. You simply don’t hear about them because the liberal media fondles over bad parents — perpetuating the cycle of parent/student failure, particularly in the ghettos of our great country.
