One cannot help but see the many sides of the recent letter (May 3) by Jill Urmy of Atascadero.
First, there is the thoughtfulness of reminding us all not to waste water by hosing down our driveways. Second, there is the issue of irony. While the Urmys sat in the park having their lunch, they neglect to mention it is a park whose lawn was green the last time I looked.
Instead, they chose to find fault with someone who was putting in xeriscaping! I guess it is hard for some to see the big picture of long-term water conversation associated with xeriscaping against the short-term and apparent wasting of water as a landscaper is cleaning up after his work.
Finally, I guess there will always be those among us who can easily add one plus one and get two, but fail to see that two plus two equals four.
