My husband and I were enjoying a nice picnic lunch at Meadow Park when I noticed a man hosing off a driveway and sidewalk.
I thought to myself, “He’ll stop soon. He can’t really be doing that.” We continued to eat our sandwiches as we watched precious water being wasted. Finally, I crossed the street and asked if he knew there was a drought.
He said yes and continued hosing off the sidewalk. I noticed a sign in the front yard that said “xeriscaping” for water conservation. It was obvious that the landscapers hired to work at this home on Meadow Street did not care that they were wasting water and increasing the homeowner’s water bill.
The landscaper was indignant when I suggested that he use a broom.
Never miss a local story.
Be aware of who you hire to garden or landscape. While you are away, the mice will play, and we all will pay!
