A letter to the editor published April 27 referred to the Republican presidential candidates as being in a clown car.
Some were there because of physical characteristics — so I guess Abraham Lincoln would have qualified to be in the clown car of his day because of height. The writer qualified others because they attended lesser-known colleges instead of more famous institutions.
Instead of focusing on a candidate’s ideas to help our country, ability to govern and trustworthiness, the letter writer instead showed a derisive and snobbish tone. The clown mentality does not deserve to be published and has to be rejected. But if not, “Send in the Clowns.”
