The Central Coast Aquarium in Avila Beach recently announced the acquisition of two giant Pacific octopuses.
Octopuses can be found along the Pacific coast from Baja California up to Alaska and across the ocean in Japan, according to the aquarium. The octopuses have 2,200 suction cups on their arms, can weigh up to 50 pounds and grow more than 15 feet across.
The new cephalopods are already 6 feet long from head to tentacle.
