Thanks for introducing us to some extraordinarily creative business owners in Sunday’s Biz Buzz Extra. Your readers may be interested to know that the talented Sean Beauchamp of Southpaw Sign Co. also gives back to the community.
The two hand-carved Los Osos entry signs, originally fabricated by Robert Brooks in 1979, were restored by volunteers under Beauchamp’s professional supervision. He then donated hours and hours of time and energy to recreate the original hand lettering, add backing and reinstall the iconic redwood signs.
Beauchamp’s positive attitude was an inspiration to the volunteers who worked on sanding and preparing the signs. Participants were from Celebrate Los Osos, an all-volunteer, community based nonprofit organization dedicated to improving public spaces in Los Osos and Baywood Park.
