Joe Tarica, I normally enjoy and agree with the ideas expressed in your column, but I was disheartened by the way you framed your viewpoint regarding changing college culture on Jan. 18.
I understand your overall point, and I agree that change takes time. I also agree that many of us have made questionable choices during college, frequently under the influence, but turn out to be upstanding citizens.
That being said, I take exception to your attempt to equate your past silly, drunken decision to carry around a stop sign to the current sexual assault charges at Cal Poly.
If you were comparing your past shenanigans to current pranks, your article would have made the mark.

But, pranks don’t violate a person’s body and damage a soul. Sexual assault does; it is completely different. Carrying a post does not equal being personally assaulted. Not even close. Apples and oranges. Bad analogy.
