The Tribune continues to give platforms of more than 200 words to people who have lost in recent elections. First, it was Tony Ferrara, and more recently, Caren Ray, who claims that 250,000 citizens do not know what they do. She must have taken her lead from Barack Obama, who stated that people who did not vote matter more than those who did! What perverted logic!
Caren Ray also compares public service to parenting. What? So Arroyo Grande citizens need maternal guidance just like children? I have not seen anything like this since I left South Africa, where under apartheid, some whites considered blacks children who needed similar “parenting.”
These people lost and by definition are losers and should disappear gracefully. I voted for Mitt Romney, and he lost, so with the same logic, he is a loser. And if he tries to run again, I will not vote for him. I am not that fond of the Bushes, but at least they go away and leave the current occupant in the White House alone. Not so with Clinton and Carter, they just keep a high profile to keep the Democrats engaged, just like Ferrara and Ray.
