Six months ago, I fell and had a complete fracture of both the fibula and tibia bones of my leg. I was taken to the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital emergency room, where my bones were set and splinted awaiting surgery. After surgery, I spent five days on the post-op surgery floor where my care was exceptional, starting with the ER doctor and team, the surgeon, Dr. King, and the wonderful care and kindness from the surgerywing staff.
From there, I was sent to the new rehab center at the hospital for six days. I was given all the help and training necessary for me to be able to go home to recover rather than going to a nursing home. This center is the only one between Monterey and Santa Barbara.
I wish for everyone on the Central Coast to be aware of what an important and vital resource we have at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital. You will not find a more helpful and caring staff anywhere. I thank them all for their great care.
