Lon Allan’s Oct. 28 column gave me a lovely breakfast-with-paper morning laugh.
His sentiments and mine on Halloween haunted houses are of alike mind. I once took my children, when young, to Balboa Park’s haunted house while living in San Diego, and it did not scare them as much as it did me. Happily, I thought I was too young for cardiac arrest, but it bordered on that feeling. Since, I have become kind of a Grinch about the whole thing.
But the best laugh, of course, was what a scary thought having Sarah Palin as vice president would have been! Now that would have really been a real scream.
