The South County supervisory race offers two distinct — almost opposite — options to voters.
Lynn Compton, the Republican candidate, has entered the race with enormous financial backing but no public service experience, no evident understanding of the position or the work of the board, and — judging by her mailings to voters — no concern for presenting any truthful arguments about herself or her opponent. She is our county’s Sarah Palin.
On the other end of the spectrum stands Democratic candidate Caren Ray, who possesses intelligence, integrity, experience and a proven commitment to protecting our quality of life.
I urge everyone in South County to vote for a candidate we can trust to serve our community: Caren Ray.
