Los Osos is finally on the cusp of having a sewer — a subject of much dissension over the past 40-plus years. As we look forward to completion of the plant and the connection process, our relationship with the county and its representatives will continue to be important, as will the Basin Plan.
Which brings us to voice our concern about two of those tho are running for the Los Osos CSD who were involved in Los Osos’ 2005 debacle. Keith Swanson was president of the group that sued the LOCSD four times, costing us $850,000. Chuck Cesena was on the board that stopped the original sewer project, claiming his group had a better sewer option. They bankrupted the LOCSD, squandering millions of dollars and destroying our relationship with the state and county; the current board is still struggling to resolve these issues. Los Osos was awash with dissension and hostility. Please vote for the three other very qualified candidates. Let’s avoid the inevitable financial incompetence and division the return of the above-mentioned individuals would inevitably bring.
