We would like to express our support for electing Mike Clark as SLO city councilman.
When electing someone to office, we look for three simple yet important qualities in a candidate: 1. a commitment to serve as a representative of the people, where no citizen is ignored, 2. the ability to be a thoughtful and effective legislator, both an independent thinker and fiscally responsible, and 3. characteristics of a concerned citizen through past and present civic involvement.
Mike unquestionably exhibits all three qualities.
We have known Mike and his family for many years and most admire him for his achievements, integrity and selfless charitable and humanitarian work, dedicating countless hours of his time with the single goal of improving our community and the quality of life in our neighborhoods. Melba and I serve alongside Mike on the Martin Luther King Scholarship Fund and know of his commitment to improve the lives of SLO’s youth and underserved.
Lastly, the election of a council member is not about partisan politics whereas about the candidate most demonstrating a desire to improve the quality of life for its residents.
