Measure G, a half-cent sales tax, will continue to provide an additional revenue stream to our city, which began in 2006 with the passage of Measure Y. The revenue from this measure has been used for necessary expenditures, and the continuation of this revenue stream will benefit the entire city. I have worked with city staff and members of our council on projects such as the Damon-Garcia soccer fields and the proposed homeless services center at 40 Prado Road.
Our council has provided sound vision and decision-making, and city staff has implemented that vision into concrete planning for a multitude of programs and projects since 2006. We should vote “yes” on Measure G.
Passage of Measure D is also important. It will continue a legacy to our communities’ children who have been students at San Luis Coastal Unified School District.
I have volunteered for more than 20 years in our school district in classrooms, on advisory boards, on the personnel commission and, finally, on our school board as a trustee. I know, firsthand, the excellent job accomplished for our children.
Never miss a local story.
The greatest gift we can give a child, other than a family’s love, is an excellent education. Measure D will provide needed funding for improvements to offer that gift. Please vote for Measure D.
